Roger Moore, the dapper British actor who played the British Secret Service Agent James Bond on screen, died on Tuesday in Switzerland at 89 years of age.

Roger Moore played Bond in seven films between 1973 and 1985. The story of his sixth James Bond film, Octopussy (1983) was set in India. Many parts of the film were shot in Udaipur, India. Former tennis player, Vijay Amritraj and Kabir Bedi were a part of the project.

His 12 years as James Bond, the British agent with a voracious appetite for danger and sex, made Moore a millionaire as well as a heartthrob the world over.
