Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Arun Jaitley and Ravi Shankar Prasad. A central Delhi resident, Gambhir said he was “inspired by Prime Minister Modi’s vision.” Questions are now being raised on whether he, given his tremendous popularity in the national capital, will be granted a ticket for the Lok Sabha elections.

A report published by the The Caravan has stated that the Income Tax Department has copies of hand-written diary entries by former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP leader BS Yedyurappa. The entries allegedly record pay-offs of over Rs 1800 crore made to top BJP national leaders, the party’s central committee, judges and advocates. The report also states that the IT department has been in possession of these documents since 2017.
The Congress party has attacked the BJP citing the report.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, 22 March, hit out at the Opposition after Indian Overseas Congress chief Sam Pitroda questioned the Indian government’s response to the Pulwama terror attack.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Pitroda said that the Congress-led UPA could have "sent planes" after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, but that it was "not right approach."

The Delhi Police has arrested Sajjad Khan, a Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist, who was in contact with the mastermind of the Pulwama attack, Mudassir Ahmed Khan.
Sajjad shifted to Delhi before the attack and was living there as a shawl seller.
Police say he knew the details of the attack in which over 40 CRPF jawans lost their lives.

The Yasin Malik-led Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front or JKLF was banned by the Centre under the anti-terror law for allegedly promoting secessionist activities in the state. This is the second organisation in J&K that has been banned this month with the Centre banning the Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir earlier.
