The anti-Hindi movement in Bengaluru reached new heights on Thursday, as pro-Kannada organisations took to defacing Hindi and English nameplates of restaurants in a mall.

This comes after some unknown people masked the Hindi signboards at two Metro stations in the city.

Speaking on the movement, activist Pravin Shetty told ANI,

Industries use land, electricity of Karnataka for profit but they don’t want to use language or give jobs to Kannadigas.

A member of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike a protection forum, he also said that Hindi nameplates would be allowed in the state only if states like Delhi agreed to put up signboards in Kannada.
