Jaitley on Tuesday, 24 October, had announced that the Cabinet had approved a PSU bank recapitalisation plan of Rs 2.11 lakh crore. He also introduced the ‘Bharat Mala’ project – under which 34,800 km of roads would be constructed.
Hitting out at the Congress for constantly deriding the GST slabs, Jaitley questioned if the Opposition party was against taxation on luxury items.
In a reply to Arun Jaitley's presser in which the Finance Ministry claimed that the 'real GDP growth average is 7.5 percent in the last three years', Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi put out a sarcastic tweet using a Star Wars reference.
Gandhi used the most famous Star Wars quote - 'May the force be with you' but tweaked the word 'force' to 'farce' and shared a graphic from the Finance Ministry's presentation.
Earlier the Congress VP called GST the a 'Gabbar Singh Tax'
