Israel Hails PM Narendra Modi’s ‘Historic’ 3-Day Visit

During PM Modi’s visit, India and Israel are expected to ink pacts in the fields of defence, energy & agriculture.

With Narendra Modi all set to become the first Indian prime minister to visit Israel, the Jewish nation has already dubbed the key bilateral meeting ‘historic’. During PM Modi’s three-day visit, the two nations are expected to ink pacts in the fields of defence, energy, and agriculture.

Yuval Rotem, DG of the Israel Foreign Ministry said:

We are all looking forward to welcoming PM Modi warmly. He is a good friend to the Jewish people. This visit is taking place in context of 25 years of Indo-Israel relations. The aim is to build the roadmap for the next 25 years.

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will personally receive Modi at the airport and will also accompany the Indian Prime Minister throughout his three-day visit. In the past, this honour has only been extended to the US President and the Pope.

PM Modi has decided to skip the customary visit to Ramallah, the seat of Palestinian authority, drawing flak from a number of leaders, including AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi.
