India Captivated by 3rd International Yoga Day, World Joins In

Yoga sessions were held through out the country to mark the third International Yoga Day.

Yoga sessions were held through out the country to mark the third International Yoga Day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off celebrations in Lucknow, where more than 50,000 enthusiasts, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, participated.

Union Ministers M Venkaiah Naidu and Vijay Goel, Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also took part in celebrations held in Delhi’s Connaught Place. NDA presidential nominee Ram Nath Kovind and senior BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi also joined in.

On his last International Yoga Day as the President, Pranab Mukherjee graced the Yoga Session held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The Indian Forces also showed their prowess on the yoga mat, with various yoga sessions being held in submarines, ships and even in Ladakh, where temperatures dipped as low as -25 degrees.

Yoga magic spread throughout the globe, with 180 countries taking part in celebrations. Hundreds flexed their muscles outside the United Nations Headquarters in New York, while the Japanese Parliament witnessed a session as well.
