A 26-year-old student hailing from Telangana’s Sangareddy dist is in a critical condition after being shot at by an unidentified person at a store in California, USA on 4 June. Mubeen Ahmed was pursuing an MS degree from a California University and worked part-time at a gas station, where he was shot at, following an altercation in a robbery attempt.

Mubeen’s family called out to the government for help, requesting arrangements for their travel to the US.

We want to see our son. We are unaware of the actual situation there and would want to meet our son to look after his needs. It is so sad that such incidents take place. I will pray that such things do not happen ever again.

Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao lashed out at the Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre for failing to act on the issue of racial attacks on Indians.

Meanwhile, Union Minister for external affairs, Sushma Swaraj took to twitter to reveal details about the issue. She stated that she has received a report from the Indian Consulate in San Francisco and is currently working on the issue.
