Prime Minister Narendra Modi faced ire a few days ago when he compared the shamshaan ghats in Uttar Pradesh with kabristans. "If you are giving land for kabristans, give land for shamshaan ghats too" he said at a rally in Fatehpur.

In Uttar Pradesh's Barhalganj, a massive ten-acre crematorium lies only a few metres from a mere two-acre kabristan.

And while Modi would have been pleased by the efficiency with which the last rites are performed at Muktipath, what would have been his reaction to the much smaller burial ground for the Muslims?
