The Raichur Zilla Panchayat CEO Kurma Rao was recently attacked by opposition parties in Karnataka when a video was captured of him being carried by villagers over puddles. He was criticised of making wrong use of his power.
While on a visit to review implementation of government schemes in villages in Raichur district, TV cameras caught two villagers lifting Rao on their shoulders, and helping him through slush.
In a similar incident, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan was carried by locals by visiting a flood-affected area.
