As part of the Phase 7 Lok Sabha Polls The Quint’s election coverage reached UP’s Varanasi to speak to several Shikshamitra to know their issues these Lok Sabha Polls and whether their concerns will pose a big challenge to the government this time around.

Shikshamitra have been demanding permanent positions and appropriate salary since 2017.

“The government played us all in the name of employment”, “income reduced to Rs 10,000”, “unable to pay our children’s fees” are some of the complaints raised by the Shikshamitra in Varanasi.

Subash Pandey urges for the Shikshamitra to be fairly accommodated and promises made to 1,78,000 Shikshamitra to be fulfilled.
