From symbolising relationship marked by mutual protection to a cause for stuffing ones mouth with all things sugary, the festival of Rakshabandhan in India is known to transcend boundaries.

Today, as siblings, both near and distant, celebrate this bond of love and security, spare a thought for these sisters mourning their brave in Rajasthan. Their brother had lost his life fighting for the nation, but have always swelled with pride. This Rakhi too, they gathered around his memorial to keep the bond alive.

From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Lalu Prasad Yadav, Politicians too came along, and opened themselves up to Indians. President Ram Nath Kovind too was greeted by children on the ocassion of Rakhi.
