Two Killed as Capital Express Train Derails in North Bengal

At least two people died and 10 people were injured when two coaches and the engine of the Guwahati-bound Capital Express from Bihar's Rajendra Nagar Terminal derailed in North Bengal on Tuesday night.

NF Railway officials said two unidentified bodies of men were found from the coaches while six persons were injured in the derailment that occurred at around 9 pm on 6 December near Samuktala Road station, about 32 km from Alipurduar Railway Division headquarters.

Initial reports had said that 10 persons were injured. Rail traffic has been stopped in both up and down lines in a diverted route, the officials said.
