Addressing a public gathering at Bihar’s Sonepur, senior leader from JD(U), Sharad Yadav, in clear defiance of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, said that the grand alliance between his party, Congress and RJD will continue.
He said the CM’s decision to break away from the grand alliance amounts to breaking the trust of the the people of Bihar, who gave each of the parties of the alliance the mandate to fight against the BJP.
Yadav said this is the first time in the history of independent India, that someone has broken their promise to the people at such a grand scale.
Sharad Yadav had been in disagreement with Nitish’s decision to join the BJP. Earlier he had said,
There have been talks of the JD(U) heading towards an impending split, although Yadav hasn’t made any such formal announcements.
On Friday, Nitish Kumar will be in Delhi to attend the oath-taking ceremony of Venkaiah Naidu as India’s 13th Vice President. Quoting his aides,NDTV reported that Nitish has asked for an appointment with PM Modi. This will be their first meeting since Nitish broke away from the grand alliance and tied up with the BJP.
