Friends of a newly wed man gifted him five litres of petrol as a wedding gift.

According to The Hindu, the happy recipients of this gift were Ilanchezhiyan and Kanimozhi.

We were waiting at a retail petrol bunk outlet to fill fuel. I was moved by the plight of the people reeling under the skyrocketing fuel prices. We immediately decided to gift a can of petrol to the couple.

Prabhakaran justified his actions by saying that he did it to raise awarness about the rising fuel prices.

According to India Today, Prabhakaran wanted to help his friend who is an autorickshaw driver and has been struggling with rising fuel prices.

But considering the skyrocketing prices of fuel across the country, the idea of gifting fuel to a loved one doesn’t seem quite bizarre anymore. One can say it is quite a practical and sensible gift.
