The Supreme Court is hearing a bunch of petitions challenging the amendment which makes it mandatory for Aadhaar to be linked to filing Income Tax (IT) returns and PAN number. But how will Aadhaar be linked to PAN? Will this linking make one’s financial information vulnerable to leaks?

Addressing the issue of leaks, UIDAI CEO Dr. Ajay Bhushan Pandey in an exclusive interview with Sanjay Pugalia, Editorial Director of The Quint said that reports of leaks from the Aadhaar database are incorrect. He also reiterated that Aadhaar data can be shared with concerned agencies only when it is judged to be important for India’s ‘national security.’
