Exclusive: BJP Must Learn from Bihar Poll Result, Says Chidambaram
Chidambaram also believes the alliance of Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav has brought anew energy into the parties.
Talking exclusively to The Quint, former Finance Minister P Chidambaram said he believes the combination of Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi as part of the Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance is a strong one.
“I think Akhilesh Yadav seems to have reinvented himself, and with the new Samajwadi Party and Congress alliance, particularly Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi, they have brought new energies into the party,” Chidambaram said.
He also said that if Mayawati also surges ahead in the Uttar Pradesh polls, BJP will be relegated to the third place.
“BJP is still a cat on the wall. They should have learnt a lesson from their Bihar defeat. For the sake of Nation, the party should learn its lesson,” Chidambaram said.
