Nishrin Jafri – daughter of former Congress member Ehsan Jafri, who was brutally killed in Godhra riots of 2002 – spoke to The Quint about overcoming the trauma of losing a father as a result of what she calls a state-executed conspiracy.

Talking about the day when her father was brutally murdered, Nishrin said that after the violence, everything was burnt down to remove evidence, especially of crimes like rape.

Nishrin added:

The first thing the Gujarat government did was to erase all evidence, the phone records... This journey has been tough for my mother... The people who have actually lost a husband or a child, they are suffering a lot... Every government, every person knows it was done, it was planned.

However, she ended on a positive note and concluded with:

We will continue to fight. There is hope for humanity.
