Onlookers were stunned when the dog resolutely stood its ground and barked till the leopard slunk off.

A stray dog faced off with a leopard in Jhalana Wildlife Reserve, Rajasthan, barking till the big cat fled.

Every dog hath its day. This was specially true for a stray dog who stared down a leopard in Jhalana Wildlife Reserve, Rajasthan. The incident took place on 2 September 2018.

The dog was sleeping on a mud trail when a leopard, called Juliet by the forest officials, pounced on it. Onlookers were stunned when the dog resolutely stood its ground against Juliet, barking till the big cat slunk off.

Forest officials say the presence of humans in the jeep may have deterred the leopard from mauling the dog. They believe that if humans were not around, the dog would have faced a certain death.
