Watch: A Cobra Is Made to Bite a Man’s Tongue to Please Snake God

To what extent can people go to please God? Offer flowers and sweets, hymns and prayers? Clearly not! Some people want to walk that extra mile to please their God.
In a bizarre video that surfaced on the web, villagers in Tonk, Rajasthan, made a cobra bite a devotee's tongue as a part of 15-year-old ritual. The man then appears to throw up what looks like blood, before the priest 'revives' him, whispering a hymn into his ears. The ritual is part of a local festival to please the snake god.
Surprisingly, the person who gets bitten by the snake remains unharmed and needs no medical attention.
Hundreds of men and women pay a visit to the Tejaji temple every year and participate in the fair to celebrate the day in full fervour.
The festival is being organised for the past 15 years. Villagers believe that by performing this ritual no villager will die if bitten by any poisonous snake.
