LGBTQ Community in Bhopal Marches In City’s 1st Gay Pride Parade

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community held a Gay Pride Parade in Bhopal on Wednesday. It was central India’s first pride parade and it was organised by sexual and gender minorities and their supporters in Bhopal on the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia. The idea was to focus on equal rights, freedom and acceptance of transgender in the society.

Over 200 persons from the LGBT community and their supporters could be seen boldly waving the Rainbow flag.

Many of them wore traditional clothes and several were from Bhopal. Many disclosed their gender orientation for the first time in the parade on Wednesday.
