Bajrang Dal workers in Meerut prevented a Hindu girl from marrying a Muslim boy in court, alleging a case of love jihad.
The Bajrang Dal members created a ruckus and stared physically assaulting the couple. When police arrived at the scene, they took the couple into custody but the Dal members hit them as well, CNN News18 reported.
The boy was identified as Saddam and the girl as a resident of Noida.
BJP spokesperson Anila Singh asked why must a girl change her religion to get married to someone she is in love with, stating that the girl may have been hoodwinked into getting married.
