Amma’s Last Journey: Jayalalithaa Buried with Full State Honours

Tamil Nadu’s beloved Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa was buried with full state honours at the MGR memorial in Chennai on Tuesday.

Among those who paid their last tributes to ‘Amma’ at Rajaji Hall were President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Rajaji Hall. Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi too arrived in Chennai, and was present throughout the funeral ceremony.

Jaya, who was 68, passed away at Chennai’s Apollo Hospital on Monday evening, where she was admitted for over 70 days. Following her demise, O Panneerselvam was appointed Chief Minister of the state late on Monday evening.
