Eighty-nine-year-old Japanese grandmother Kimiko Nishimoto has taken the internet by storm with her hilarious selfies, and even opened an exhibition of her work at a gallery in Tokyo.
Nishimoto discovered photography at the age of 72 after her son attended a photography class. Now, she loves dressing up in costumes to take pictures of herself in amusing and ‘dangerous’ situations.
What started as a form of entertainment later became a passion for her, but the purpose was always the same: to make people laugh.
Nishimoto believes that ever since she decided to join the classes, her joy for selfies and zest for life doubled.
She, however, feels that the appreciation for her pictures is all because of the people who find them interesting.
