25 CRPF Personnel Killed in Naxal Attack in Sukma, Chhattisgarh

At least 25 CRPF personnel were killed and several others wounded in an ambush by Naxalites in in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Monday. The CRPF personnel were sanitising a road which is being built in the area.

CRPF constable Sher Mohammed said that around 300 Naxals were sent to trace the CRPF’s location, after which an ambush was carried out.

I am extremely distressed to know about the Naxal attack in Sukma. I am cancelling my Delhi tour and returning to Chhattisgarh to attend a meeting.

In a separate attack, at least three CRPF jawans have been injured in Jharkhand’s Daltonganj.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted his condolences to the families of the martyred jawans. He also wished a speedy recovery to the injured jawans. Read the full story here.
