14 Water-Colour Paintings by Hitler Up For Auction in Nuremberg
Hitler had attempted to crack the admission test to the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts twice and failed.
It is a shocking contrast that Adolf Hitler, the most infamous Nazi leader who led the world to the catastrophic World War II could ever have been a painter. He produced hundreds of paintings over his life time all of which have been seized and taken to various parts of the world. Many of his paintings have been auctioned and sold at unprecedented prices. 14 water-colour paintings by the Fuehrer are again going to be up for auction this month, with each piece of work expected to draw $1,123 - $50,700 each.
Each of his paintings are monogrammed ‘A.Hitler’ and have consequently sought millions of dollars. The infamous dictator and schemer of the Holocaust was twice rejected by the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna since he couldn’t clear their entrance exam in the year 1907 and 1908. Experts believe that his art was largely inspired by the Austrian Artist Rudolf Von Alt. On looking closely you would find intricate detailing of his architecture and landscapes.
One can’t help but lament that had Hitler been admitted into the art school, who knows maybe the fate of the world would have been different and the ghastly World War II would never have happened.
