Prime Minister Narendra Modi finally broke his silence on the much debated ‘triple talaq’ while addressing a public rally in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh. PM Modi batted for women rights and maintained the party line as he stressed on taking proper measures to give equal rights to women across all the religions.

He added that his government has told the Supreme Court that inequality cannot be allowed in the name of religion.

Modi also targeted the opposition parties for politicising the issue and supporting a gender discriminatory practice to appease their vote banks.
