Amid raging controversy over Pakistani actors working in India, veteran actor Nana Patekar on Monday slammed Bollywood over its comments in favour of actors hailing from the neighbouring country.

Dismissing all arguments in favour of Pak-based actors, Patekar noted that the nation was of primordial importance to him. While urging the media to steer clear of the ongoing spat among actors, Patekar labeled Bollywood actors as ‘trivial’ and ‘pretentious’.

Recently, Salman Khan had expressed his displeasure over the way Pakistani actors had been asked to stop working in India and asked to leave immediately. His comments had drawn a huge backlash from the Maharashtra Navanirman Sena, which asked the actor to migrate to Pakistan as well with the actors he so passionately defended.
