Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Rakshabandhan at the PMO with women and children from across the country. Widows from Varanasi also came to tie him rakhis.

Other prominent personalities like Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj and Venkaiah Naidu also celebrated the festival.

Kargil War Veteran Late Capt Vijyant Thapar’s mother Tripta Thapar also tied rakhis to ex-servicemen on protest for OROP.
