The world’s oldest tigress, Machali, who had made her home in the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, died on Thursday.

She was 19 years old, a living 4-5 years longer than others of her kind. She was named Machali because of the fish-like markings on her face.

No ordinary tigress, she was a celebrity in her own right with a postage stamp and even a Facebook page in her name.
