The Rs 100 wala lungi is being sold for almost Rs 6000 by Zara - WHAT?! That’s what most folks at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week had to say.
Well, the some of the terms used by people to describe their reaction to the humble lungi’s exorbitant price tag included - crazy and bullshit. Inspired by India, the “check mini skirt” or “flowing long skirt” offered by the fashion house will definitely not find any takers back home for that price. This is the land where we do the lungi dance at the drop of a hat, why would we shell out 6k for something we can get at Rs 100?
