An amusement park in southwestern Japan opened its skating rink with a theme that did not leave visitors amused.

The entire floor was covered with dead fish under the surface to give an illusion of “swimming over the ocean” to the skaters.

The concept left many people repulsed and led to the park-authorities closing the rink as well as removing all posts related to it from social media.

They apologised for using the 5,000 fish of 25 varieties, which, they say, will receive a proper burial.
