After winning the Asia Cup and qualifying for next year's World Cup, India skipper Rani Rampal said that it’s a big win for the Indian women’s hockey team.

India created history as they edged past China via a penalty shootout in the final of the Asia Cup on Sunday, 5 November. It was the skipper who scored the winning goal for India while Savita made a great save in sudden death to ensure India the 5-4 score in the penalty shootout.

Rampal said that this win was just the start for the Indian team and that the side has to improve in a lot of areas.

Midfielder Monika was disappointed that their matches were not broadcast on television.
