Nawaz Sharif’s address to the United Nation General Assembly has drawn criticism from the Indian Government.

Addressing a press conference in New York, Minister of State for External Affairs, MJ Akbar said, “Pakistan seems to be run by a war-machine, rather than a government.”

Contending Sharif’s description of Burhan Wani as a ‘young leader’, Akbar said that the Pakistani Prime Minister had misused the UNGA platform to glorifying a dreaded terrorist.

Sharif’s statement comes at a time when tensions have escalated between New Delhi and Islamabad over the recent terror attack on an Army camp in Uri.
