One art installation has particularly garnered much attention at the India Art Fair 2016 – The Garbh: Layers and the Surface is a project by artist Puneet Kaushik, supported by Gallery Espace.

Tufted in red metallic cord, cotton and wool fibre, the installation is 9 feet tall and 7.6 feet wide. It also uses convex mirrors that make you appear smaller and curled up, just as you would be inside a womb.

The art work, according to the artist, represents both an element of the self and of the universe.
