Hajipur's sweet bananas are beloved not just in Bihar but across India. However, no one is paying attention to the banana farmers' needs in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The Quint reached Hajipur to speak to the farmers, where they spoke about not receiving any help from the government.

They say that when the crops are destroyed, the compensation is given to the landowners, but the money doesn't reach the farmers. They also say that no one asks about them after the elections.
