ICC World Cup 2019 fever has taken over the country. Cricket passion is such that even in this scorching weather people are seen getting down and dirty on grounds, terrace, parking lots and of course in the gullies.
Emotions run sky-rocket high during the world cup season. So, we spoke with gully cricketers to get a sense of the excitement on the streets.
These kids were divided in their choice of favourite players in the Indian cricket team but one thing they said unanimously is that “cricket ka crown India le jayega.”
Apart from MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, popular players amongst kids were Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya.
India Vs Pakistan is the most awaited match plus Pakistan was the popular choice to compete with India in the final. Other teams which people want to see India competing with in the final is England, Australia and New Zealand.
People advised the Indian team to keep their game simple and not get into the pressure of playing differently as the English grounds are not so favourable for the team and they have a history of collapsing on fast pitches. Another advise for Virat Kohli was not to opt to bowl first if they win the toss as then India will have to chase a very big total.
Many swore to not watch the ODI if India gets out of the competition, others said they will support teams like Afghanistan, England, Bangladesh and South Africa.
