Three leading stars of the popular TV fantasy drama ‘Game of Thrones’ visited Syrian refugee camps in Athens, Greece. This was done to appeal to European leaders to ease restrictions on refugees trying to reach the continent.

‘What struck us was the humanity. These people are not like us, they are us. There are successful people in these camps. Everything has been taken from them, not because of a natural disaster, but because people in offices around the world visit them with cruelty’
Liam Cunningham, Actor

Maisie Williams questioned, ‘Why do they (refugees) have any less right to live than I do? They are people like you and me. They want to go home but they can’t, because we have destroyed it.’

The actors also condemned that what is happening to the refugees is morally wrong and unacceptable. Lena Headey said the visit was a life-changing experience and the issue is something that we should not block our ears to. She added that she witnesses first-hand the enormity of the loss of humanity.
