Four transgender people were brutally assaulted by a group of villagers in Malkangiri district in Odisha. According to reports, the transgender people were begging in a bus on the way to Malkangiri district from Mathili.
On being refused money, they apparently cursed the passengers which provoked them enough to gang up on them and beat them.
The transgender community have warned that if the accused are not arrested within 24 hours, they will gherao the house of the Malkangiri collector and the Bhubaneswar CM.
