Exclusive | Cows Have Been Core of India’s Agrarian Economy: Yogi

Fourteen diaries producing at least 3 lakh litres of milk are expected to be inaugurated by 2018, the UP CM said.

In an exclusive interview with The Quint’s Sanjay Pugalia, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath elaborated upon the importance of the cow in his model of development.

The cow has been at the core of India’s agrarian society, Yogi said, informing The Quint about his decision to open 14 new diaries by 2018 with an aim to produce at least 3 lakh litres of milk.

Uttar Pradesh has seen a quite a number of cow vigilantism cases since the brutal lynching of Mohammad Akhlaq in 2015, in Dadri. But Yogi Adityanath confidently said that there hasn’t been any such case of violence in the last seven months.
