Unorganised and unrecognised, but reportedly worth Rs 600 crore with the potential to grow at 15 percent per annum, the coaching industry is booming. Kota in Rajasthan is raking in a lion’s share of the dividends. Kota sends the largest number of toppers to IITs and government medical colleges. It also records the highest number of student suicides – thirty-one in 2015 and two this year.

Who’s responsible? The coaching institutes, parents or the children themselves? The Quint attempts to break down the Kota paradox in its upcoming documentary ‘Why Kota Kills’.
