Rahul Gandhi is in Bundelkhand as part of his statewide Kisan Yatra in Uttar Pradesh. The region is widely considered the worst place for farmers in the country, with close to 2,500 farmers having committed suicide in the region in the last 10 years.

Rahul has been promising to waive farmers’ loans during the Khat Sabhas in his journey. But are the farmers buying it, or have they lost faith in politicians? The Quint’s Neeraj Gupta travelled to Jalaun district in Bundelkhand to meet the families of some victims who fell prey to the cycle of failed crops and debts.
