Bhaichung Bhutia’s life and legacy is only football. Or it used to.

Till two years ago, when the former Indian football captain decided to make his political debut for Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress in the Lok Sabha Elections.

He lost those elections but still as inspired, Baichung is now standing from Siliguri on a TMC ticket at the upcoming Assembly Elections. The Quint followed the sports legend as he made his way through the lanes of one of the many villages that fall in his 33 wards of Siliguri.
