Britain’s stargazers were in for a treat on Sunday night, with a dazzling display of the Northern Lights in the sky.

Aurora Borealis is a phenomenon caused when charged solar particles interact with the Earth’s magnetic field. The spectacle is usually only visible in the higher latitudes of the north.
