It was an emotional homecoming for 16 Indians rescued from strife-torn Libya as they returned home on Thursday.

All of them from Kerala, are among the 29 Indians evacuated after they were stranded in Libya. They left the Libyan city of Tripoli for Istanbul, from where they went to Dubai and then came to Kochi, Non-Resident Keralite Affairs CEO RS Kannan said.

The news of their rescue and their returning home was broken by Prime Minister Modi on Wednesday at an election rally in nearby Tripunithara.
