Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor starrer Padmaavat is finally releasing in theatres after being delayed by multiple controversies. The Rajput Karni Sena went “Mhaara offence kisi ke offence se kamm hai ke?” on the portrayal of Rani/Goddess Padmini. This, even before watching the trailer/poster of the film – and threatened to cut off the heads and noses of Deepika and Director Sanjay Bhansali.

Padmaavat was originally titled ‘Padmavati’ but the ‘i’ was dropped at the recommendation of the CBFC. We’re yet to investigate whether an astrologer is a part-time employee of the film certification board.
Padmaavat’s release was pushed from its original release date of 1 December. The film is now releasing solo on 25 January after Akshay Kumar averted the clash with ‘Padman’. Kumar’s ‘Padman’ now releases on 9 February.
