The Maruti Suzuki Jimny will be a potential replacement to the widely popular SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) Gypsy. Pictures of the Japan variant surfaced online after the brochure was leaked. The SUV was showcased to a select group of people, according to NDTV.

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny will come in two engine variants
Apart from the July reveal, the brochure confirmed that the Jimny will be launched in two variants – Jimny, the base model, and the more powerful, the Jimny Sierra which will be offered with a 1.5 litre engine.

Maruti Suzuki’s Jimny will come in two engine options – a 0.66-litre turbocharged, three-cylinder petrol engine for the base mode, and a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 100 bhp of power for the Sierra.

Both engines will come mated to either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission and will offer three trims each – XG, XL and XC.

The boxy design and Black treatment of the SUV gives it a more rugged look. According to the brochure, the Jimny sports a wheelbase of 3,300 mm and is 1,475 mm wide standing at 1,715 mm.

All Black interiors retain that classic Gypsy styling

There will be a lot of colour options (both single and dual tone) available including Green, Grey, Silver, etc.

Only the top-spec XC variants come with a dual-tone exterior.
The Jimny will offer climate control as an option.

The interiors sport an all Black colour scheme while the dashboard looks well equipped with the large SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system at the center. The climate control on the Jimny has been carried over from the Swift.
