Sennheiser HD 4.5BT Review: Wireless & Cancels Out Noise Very Well
The mid-range wireless headphone from Sennheiser comes with noise-cancellation support and offers long battery life.
Sennheiser hasn’t been the pick of brands personally when it comes to recommending audio products to people. They’ve got good quality speakers and headphones, but nothing that has warranted more attention. But with the Sennheiser HD 4.5BT wireless headphone, for once, I wanted this 15K costing product to charm me with its ability, quality and value.

What’s Good?
Sennheiser HD 4.5BT is playing in a safe-zone at this price point, as most of the high-end stuff from Sony, Bose cost you more than 20K. So, at just about 15K, the HD 4.5BT is a decent bet, with a simple, yet practical design outline.
The ear-cups are big enough to fit any size, and the headband can also be extended enough to hold its place on anyone’s head (no trouble sharing this one).
The headphones can be used in two modes, either via Bluetooth or just plug in the 3.5-mm cable and hook it up to your phone. This way, you end up saving some battery life, especially if you’re running low.
In terms of audio quality, what the 4.5BT offers is a balance between what an entry-level wireless headphone offers at this price, and what you expect from the top-tier stuff. The crispness of the audio tones became evident to me very early, and my expectations were rightly vindicated.
With the 4.5BT you can listen to light-hearted tracks with utmost clarity (soothing for jazz and blues listeners), and it can also cater to the bass-thumping needs for users, without going overboard.
After using it for well over 2 weeks, the Sennheiser 4.5BT has spoilt my taste for noise-cancellation. Anybody wearing this inside office will be totally cut-off from his/her surroundings, lost amidst the track, music playing in the backdrop.
The other most important and well-behaving part about the 4.5BT is its battery life. Sennheiser claims you’ll get 19 hours on Bluetooth with noise cancellation on, and 25 hours if the Bluetooth is off. During our time with the headphones, we seldom charged it for more than a few minutes.
What’s Bad?
The only gripe we can have about the 4.5BT is that the headband doesn’t get any soft-cushioning, which for a headphone priced at 15K doesn’t make sense.
Because it lacks on the aforementioned comfort, wearing the 4.5BT for long duration turns out to be a tough task.
Why Buy It?
Sennheiser HD 4.5BT headphone is a decent bet for a mid-range wireless headphone. Good with audio quality, impressive noise cancellation output, long battery life makes it a compelling option to recommend.
However, make sure you know that you’re also getting a pair of wireless headphones that won’t keep you happy after wearing and using it for a long time. When you consider that at this price point there aren’t many worth buying, the HD 4.5BT is at least worthy of being on the list.
