This Prepaid Plan From Vodafone For Rs 999 Offers 12GB Data Only

Indian telcos are launching new prepaid and postpaid plans at regular intervals, trying to lure consumers into paying more, so that businesses can finally rake in big revenue.

For this, Vodafone this week has added an interesting long-term plan to its line up, which as it seems, is purely focused on those who want more validity and less concerned about how little data it is offering.

This plan from Vodafone costing Rs 999 offers 365 days of validity, but only 12GB data, which is not the limit for a day, or even a month. It’s for the whole year. This was first spotted by the guys at Telecom Talk, who also mentioned that the plan is available only for the people in Punjab circle.

This one year plan from Vodafone is similar to Airtel’s Rs 998 prepaid plan, which also offers a long duration validity, but 12GB data for the entire year and limit of 100 SMS per day.

But in terms of calling, this Vodafone plan lets you make unlimited local, STD calls and even talk on roaming without being charged for it.

These plans are probably there for people, who don’t want to keep recharging their number after every month, or three months in some cases. They’re also not running after loads of data, and would rather use their handsets to make calls.

Compare this with Jio’s long term plan of Rs 1,699. You get unlimited calls alright, but the additional data (1.5GB per day) for 365 days, is definitely a better deal, and worth the extra Rs 700 spent for the plan.

That’s probably the reason behind launching it in a region like Punjab, but it’s possible Vodafone might offer it in more states in the coming weeks. All said and done, if you’re in the market, only for calls and retaining a mobile number for one year, this plan is worth taking.
