Titan Juxt is the first watch with smart features that has been made by a traditional Indian watchmaker. Priced at Rs 15,995 the Juxt has been designed and engineered by HP.

The Juxt is compatible with Android and iOS phones. But it’s hard to tell if the Juxt will be in same league as the Motorola Moto 360 and the Samsung Gear S2.

Pros:

  • OLED display
  • Compatible with Android & iOS
  • Long battery life

Cons:

  • Limited fitness features
  • Tiny display
  • Overpriced

What’s Good?

Titan has stuck to its principle of making durable watches and the Juxt benefits from the heavy-duty marriage between the watchmaker and HP. The stainless steel finish adds to the strong looks of the Juxt which is available in multiple variants, suited for both sexes. The Juxt also comes with basic water resistant features.

The watch is compatible with Android as well as iOS phones and the OLED display facilitates notifications. You get call alerts and message (SMS, WhatsApp, Email etc) notifications on the screen which is always handy for people on-the-go.

The Juxt app has been designed by HP and lets you pair your phone with the watch. Once the devices are paired, you can set up a user profile and access features like the activity tracker.

The micro-USB charger for the Juxt is handy and can be used by plugging it on the side where the battery points are placed.

And if you’re worried about the battery life, then we have some good news for you.

Titan claims that the Juxt can last up to 5 days on a single charge which is more than what the Apple Watch, the Samsung Gear S2 and even the Motorola Moto 360 offer. And much to our delight, we can vouch for the claims made by Titan.

What’s Bad?

With the Titan Juxt, you will be buying a Rs 15,995 watch with smart features. The Juxt is designed on the template of a Chronograph which deters HP from adding a bigger display. It does not support touch input, hence, you’ll have to rely on the physical buttons to get the watch working.

The other thing we noticed with the Juxt is that not everyone will find it to their taste, size or weight. The watch is thick, making it heavier than usual which basically means that you won’t be wearing it all the time. However, Titan claims to have tackled that issue with different variants on offer.

Why Buy It?

Titan Juxt marks the company’s foray into the wearable space along with HP. It lets you monitor steps, gives you call and message alerts, all this with a relatively small OLED display. Having said that, the battery life of the watch is more than what the Apple Watch or Samsung Gear S2 offer right now.

To give it to you straight, Juxt is not a smartwatch and we’re not sure how many if you would spend Rs 15,995 just to get notifications.
