Reliance Jio is boosting its existing Lyf smartphone line-up with the addition of the Lyf F1 4G, which has been priced at Rs 13,399. For this price, you get a 5.5-inch phone with a 16-megapixel camera running Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The phone will be available at retail outlets across the country.
But that’s not what makes the Lyf F1 stand out amongst the rest of the crowd. As per Reliance Jio, this Lyf phone gets built-in support for carrier aggregation (CA) technology. According to them, this will result in faster data transfer speeds and also improved battery life.
They’ve also improved the SMS feature, making it more feature rich (with group chats, file and location sharing) like instant messaging apps. The phone also gets an electronic image stabilisation-ready camera, that was recently seen in the Google Pixel phones.
Display: 5.5-inch Full HD with Corning Glass 4
Operating system: Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Processor: Octa-core Snapdragon 617
RAM: 3GB
Storage: 32GB expandable up to 128GB
Rear camera: 16MP
Front camera: 8MP
Battery: 3200mAh
It is hard to see anything new about the Lyf F1 4G phone, especially when compared with phones from brands like Xiaomi and Lenovo in this price segment.
The company’s betting big on the CA technology, but that can only be determined after getting to experience the device for a longer duration.
